The 30th season of the Oregon Coast Music Festival continues the tradition of high-caliber music performed throughout the Bay Area. Over a 15-day period, July 12 –26, expect to hear reggae, jazz, Celtic, swing, surf–country, soul, and classical. Locations vary from Mingus and Shore Acres parks, to the Egyptian Theatre and Marshfield Auditorium, to Black Market Gourmet and Rogers Zoo.
James Paul, long-time director of the Festival, is back along with Jason Klein to conduct the festival orchestra. Although most performances have artists that come from afar, this year local musicians are also taking part. The festival kick-off concert in Mingus Park will showcase some of the local talent.
Another tradition is that Don McMichael designed this year's festival poster. While not whimsical as he has done in past years, it showcases his strengths, whales and ships. It is sure to become another collector item.
The complete two-week schedule is available online and tickets may be ordered via e-mail.
