The Chowder, Blues & Brews celebration is part of Florence's Fall Festival this September 19 through 21 and is held at the Florence Events Center.
Friday afternoon is the beginning of a weekend of music performed by great blues artists from throughout the Northwest.
On Saturday, The Oregon Coast Professional Chowder Cook-off provides festivalgoers the chance to taste and rate the best chowders from restaurants from Astoria to Brookings. Tasting begins at 1 p.m.
Several Oregon microbreweries offer a selection of brews for tasting from pale ales to dark stouts. And to top it off, about 20 food vendors tempt festivalgoers with choice delicacies to accompany the chowders and brews. Forget those diets! (541-997-3128; florencechamber.com)
