CULTURAL CENTER WILL BE KICKIN’ IT OLD SCHOOL AT THE CLASSIC CAR CRUISE-IN
FRIDAY, AUG. 24
LINCOLN CITY – Whether you own a special vintage car, or you just love to look at them, you’re invited to an evening of outdoor fun at the Old School Cruise-In, set for 5-8 pm on Friday, Aug. 24, at the Lincoln City Cultural Center. Classic cars and trucks of all ages are invited to this event, which also features food, drink and live music at the center, 540 NE Hwy. 101 in Lincoln City.
“Cruise in” to enjoy this special outdoor party at the Cultural Center. All autos that are registered will receive event decals and will be eligible for prizes like “People’s Choice” and “Best Truck.” Registration is just $10 per vehicle, available online at www.lincolncityculturalcenter.org. Admission is free for spectators and for non-competing cars, too.
The evening’s entertainment will be provided by the band Sitka, a four-piece group that specializes in hits from the 1960s and 1970s, in a style they call “non-metro retro.” The band is made up of Marshall Edwards (guitar and vocals), Michael McDonald (bass, synth and vocals), Gray Eubank (vocals, guitar) and “Santa Claus” (percussion). Named after the big, old and deeply-rooted Sitka tree, the band plays “interpretations of popular classics topped with tasty jams.”
Tasty D Doggs (wrapped in bacon, yum!) will be open for business and the beer garden will have locally made craft brews from Rusty Truck Brewing on tap. (541-994-9994; lincolncityculturalcenter.org)
